Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston's Flood Relief Fund

If you are in need of assistance or know someone who is in need, please visit our Tropical Storm Imelda Disaster Recovery Assistance page.

Recently, Tropical Storm Imelda hit southeast Texas with great impact and persisted with devastating results across our region. The storm’s rain unleashed floods which have affected families and homes throughout our Archdiocese.

The full impact on our churches, schools and other structures in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is still being evaluated. While some areas emerged relatively untouched, others were overwhelmed by the storm.

In the days after the storm, Catholic parishes were helping in their local communities, working in conjunction with both local and national relief efforts to serve as shelters and donation centers. However, as with past flood events, the effects of Tropical Storm Imelda will extend far beyond these immediate needs.

Our area is prone to flooding, and recovery from these events will take all our efforts. We need your help. Your donation will support the recovery and rebuilding of Catholic parishes, schools, and ministries in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, in addition to helping those in need through our Catholic social service agencies. Thank you for your prayers and your generosity.
