Parishes and ministries are broadcasting the Holy Mass online, on radio and television as the Archdiocese is "inviting all to become One in Christ" and join the Universal Church around the world in prayer.

Just like for any other Mass, tune in a bit earlier to prepare for Mass -- striving for "fully conscious, and active participation" in the Sacred Liturgy -- and to figure out any issues. All times are local. Several streams support TV video casting (Facebook, YouTube, etc.); look for the cast logo in these livestreams. All can be viewed on a phone, tablet or computer.

Live from the Vatican

The Vatican continues to regularly stream live events, including Masses celebrated by Pope Francis, the Angelus and other liturgies. Most events are in Italian, with the Vatican City +6 hours ahead of Central time. When no event is happening, the stream shows a live shot of St. Peter's Square. Videos are then archived at Vatican News.

Did you know that Catholics can make an Act of Spiritual Communion?

It has long been a Catholic understanding that when circumstances prevent one from receiving Holy Communion, it is possible to make an Act of Spiritual Communion which is a source of grace. Spiritual Communion means uniting one’s self in prayer with Christ’s sacrifice and worshiping Him in His Body and Blood.

The most common reason for making an Act of Spiritual Communion is when a person cannot attend Mass. Acts of Spiritual Communion increase our desire to receive sacramental Communion and help us avoid the sins that would make us unable to receive Holy Communion worthily.

When unable to receive Holy Communion, pray the prayer below:

A prayer for Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
