Young Adult Ministry
The vision of the Office of Young Adult & Campus Ministry (YACM) is to connect young adults 18-39 years old to Jesus Christ, the Church, the mission of the Church in the world, and our peers. The YACM Office supports over 60 parishes and young adult communities (in English and Spanish) across the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Find a community of young adults near you!
The YACM Office hosts many social, spiritual and service opportunities for young adults throughout the year, including the Archdiocesan Young Adult Day, Café Catholica, Charis Ignatian Spirituality Retreats, and Bayou Awakening Retreats. Parish Young Adult Groups Many parishes in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston host young adult communities to enrich the faith life of their young adult parishioners and to invite young adults to contribute to the larger parish community (English and Spanish groups).
Café Catholica Speaker Series is a speaker series for young adults. The central Café Catholica is held over four Mondays in the month of July. Café Catholica Lite will move around the archdiocese every 2 months after the summer event ends. Come for inspirational and informative talks, fellowship with Catholic young adults, great food, and time for prayer.
Retreats We offer two types of retreats: the overnight Charis Ignatian Spirituality Retreat for anyone in their 20's and 30's and the 3-day Bayou Awakening retreat for those 18-25 years old.
Archdiocesan Young Adult Day Come and join hundreds of young adults ages 18-39 years old for a day of workshops, music, prayer, Eucharist and fellowship. The next event will be on Saturday, March 21, at St. Jerome Church from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Get inspired by national and local speakers. Presented in English and Spanish.
Apostles on Mission: is a 10-week formation program in leadership and evangelization for Young Adults in their 20s and 30s. This young adult formation program is for you to cultivate your personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to understand your personal gifts and strengths, and to live out these gifts and strengths in a unique way within your community.
