"Hello all college and university students in Galveston area. My name is Carl Erickson and I am the director at the Galveston Newman Center. I am honored the Lord has chosen me to serve you and to lead the center. I originally hail from Michigan, but was blessed with this opportunity to serve you here in Galveston in 2008.
As for the Galveston Newman Center, we are located on Pelican Island and have grown extensively over the past 1 years. It has been a new era for the center and the future is quite bright. We are always in need of volunteers and leaders. Musicians are welcome as well as those who want to serve in liturgy. There is also café style bible studies and doctrine discussions. We also take retreats and trips.
Here is our Schedule of our events:
Sunday: Mass, 5:05 pm followed by Sunday Supper
Monday: Evening Prayer, 7:30 — Café Scriptura, 8:00 pm
Tuesday: Rosary, 7:30 pm — Catholicism #101, 8:00 pm, Room #100 (Topic Oriented with Question and answers)
Wednesday: Adoration, 6:00pm-7:15pm — Catholic Sea Aggies Meeting
Thursday: Rosary, 7:30 pm — Crazy Catholics College Night, 8:00 pm (fun night)
Friday: Divine Mercy Chaplet, 3:00 pm at the center
