Christus Vivit is a training program offered by the Office of Young Adult & Campus Ministry for those serving as leaders in parish-based young adult ministry. Young Adults who complete this course will gain an understanding of the basic principles of young adult ministry, practical skills needed to serve on a leadership team, and helpful tools needed to create a successful young adult ministry at his/her parish. This will be a 5-week course held on Wednesdays starting on January 29th at St. Dominic Chancery (2403 Holcombe Blvd., Houston) from 7:00-8:30 pm. Registration deadline is January 27, 2025. Café Catholica Lite: January 30th
Our next Café Catholica Lite will be held on January 30, 2025, at St. Faustina Parish (28102 FM 1093, Fulshear) from 7:00-8:45 pm. Our speaker will be Fr. Kingsley Nwoko, STL, Th.D., associate pastor at St. Albert of Trapani and founder of Lumina School of Love. Fr. Kingsley's talk will be titled “Why Love Hurts: Discerning Married Love Beyond Appearances”, diving into what it means and what it costs to love another with God's own love. Pope Francis has declared that 2025 will be a Jubilee year, and all young adults (ages 18-39) are invited to join the archdiocesan pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi to participate! The Office of Young Adult & Campus Ministry is partnering with Verso Ministries to offer a pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi for the Jubilee on July 27-August 6, 2025. This pilgrimage is open to all young adults (ages 18-39). This pilgrimage offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich history of Rome, walk through the holy doors for the Jubilee year, participate in adoration and Mass with Pope Francis, and visit the home of Sts. Francis and Clare of Assisi. We will also attend the canonization Mass for Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati. Cost for the trip is $3,881 per person (flights not included). Steps for Students: Register to Run or Volunteer
Steps for Students is a 5K race that supports Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. The upcoming race will take place at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on Saturday, February 8th. Young adults are encouraged to register to race, volunteer or donate. ETC: Ablaze with Love
All student leaders involved in college campus ministry are invited to attend our 2025 Evangelical Training Camp (ETC), “Ablaze With Love” on Feb. 7th-9th. Deepen your connection with Christ and strengthen your commitment to loving others as Jesus loves us.
The ETC retreat will be held at Forest Glen Retreat Center (34 Forest Glen Road, Huntsville, TX 77340) on Feb. 7-9, 2025. The cost is $15 and includes all meals and lodging. Register by Jan. 26 to join us!
This joint retreat welcomes student leaders from various campus ministry programs, including SHSU, the University of Houston, TSU, Rice University, Galveston Newman Center, and the University of St. Thomas. We also invite student leaders from Houston-area community colleges or other universities to join us.

Discovering Love with Clarity
Are you seeking the meaning of love? Please join us for the upcoming Discovering Love with Clarity program open to all young adults. Discovering Love with Clarity is a series of formation and encounter for singles, dating, and engaged couples willing to explore the profound meaning of love and discernment toward the vocation of marriage. The program, facilitated by Fr. Kingsley Nwoko, STL, includes 4 Saturday discussion sessions held at St. Dominic Chancery (2403 Holcombe Blvd.) on March 1, Mar 15, April 5, and May 3, 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Magnify 2025
All young adults are invited to join us for Magnify at St. Mary’s Seminary (9845 Memorial Dr, Houston) on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 8:15 pm. Magnify, formerly known as the Archdiocesan Young Adult Day, will include a keynote speaker, small group discussions, workshops, Mass, and time for social activities. Our English Keynote is Sr. Albert Marie Surmanksi, OP, an Associate Professor of Theology at the University of St. Thomas in Houston and St. Mary's Seminary. Our Spanish Keynote is Mari Pablo, a national speaker through Ascension Press. This year’s theme is “Journey to the Father’s Heart” (Luke 15: 20, 31). Early Bird Registration Cost is $45 (register by February 17) or Regular Cost is $55 (register by March 17). At the door Registration Cost is $65 (register by March 22). Heart-to-Heart Adoration
All young adults are invited to Heart-to-Heart adoration nights held on the last Tuesday of the month at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 7-8:15 pm. Heart-to-Heart offers Eucharistic adoration, confession, gifted prayer teams, and praise and worship music. Come to listen to the heart of Jesus! After prayer, join young adults at a nearby bar for drinks and socializing.
Adoration by Candlelight
Adoration by Candlelight will be held at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (1111 St. Joseph Pkwy, Houston) once a month from 7-8 pm. Adoration includes music from 1,000 years of the Catholic treasury provided by Schola Cantorum of the Co-Cathedral.
