Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion is held on the first Sunday of Lent each year. If you are the new DRE or Coordinator for the Rite of Election at your parish, please email the Office of Worship at email@example.com to have your contact information added to Rite of Election contact list.
***In 2021, due to the seating challenges during the pandemic, the Rite of Election will be celebrated at the parish.***
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will celebrate Rites of Election at four various parishes. Designated locations will be emailed to each parish with instructions. All will be bilingual.
Each year approximately 1400 Catechmens and 800 Candidates celebrate the rite.
RCIA Directors / Coordinators will be able to select their parish to attend the Rite AND enter the names of their Candidates / Catechumens under one registration.
The Office of Worship will send an email to the RCIA Directors / Coordinators in mid January that will include instructions, deadline date to register, and the registration link.
The Rite of Election Call to Continued Conversion Interview documents can be downloaded here (PDF). These will be used to interview the Candidates / Catechumens that are ready to attend the Rite. Directors / Coordinators DO NOT need to submit these to the Office of Worship.
A note to RCIA Directors/Coordinators:
Please make sure to read the emails you receive from the Office of Worship in its entirety to prevent confusion and help you prepare to attend the Rite of Election.
After the deadline date for registration & modifications, any updates to your registration must be submitted to the Office of Worship by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You must appear at your assigned location. We will have no ability to reassign if you attend the wrong location / time.
