This is a three module series that focuses on common medical and ethical issues arising at the beginning of life, at the end of life, and in health care.

Session 2: Contraception and Assisted Reproductive Technologies
Session 3: Assisted Reproductive Technologies Continued and Questions of Personhood
Session 4: Questions of Maternal Health During Pregnancy
Session 5: Prenatal Testing & Diagnosis, and Emergency Contraception
Session 6: Egg Donation, Surrogacy and Adoption

Module 2: End of Life Issues 

Session Topics: Dignity and Illness, Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide, Advanced Directives & DNR (Do-Not-Resuscitate), Palliative Care, Methods of Determining Death, Nutrition & Hydration, Ordinary & Extraordinary Care, and Pain Management.

Module 3: Health Care Ethics & Experimentation

Session 1 Topics: Catholic Perspectives on the healthcare professional-patient relationship as partnership, ethical cooperation in a modern healthcare setting (case study on ethics of vaccine use), and principles of totality and integrity in determining ethical treatment (case study on sterilization).

Session 2 Topics: Stem cell and embryonic research, therapeutic vs. non-therapeutic experiments, and issues of consent and proxy consent.

Session 3 Topics: Ethical issues in organ donation, living vs. deceased donor gift, definitions of/determination of death, and assisted suicide: implications for organ donation.
