Process of certification to teach Catechetical Modules

There is a CM-TRAINING FOR FACILITATORS OF CATECHETICAL MODULES v.24 in CAPERNAUM.

This event is for candidates who wish to be certified to teach the 10 catechetical modules that are required for the Catechist Certificate of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

This training is only offered once a year in the month of June, one session in English and one in Spanish.

 

In order to be approved to take this training, you must:

1. Have a CURRENT catechist certificate status (level 3 Catechist Certificate completed and a RENEWAL -if you completed your level 3 certificate before 2021)

2. Complete and submit the CM-FACILITATOR INTEREST FORM (request it at mvences@archgh.org if the hyperlink does not work)

3. Once your CM-FACILIATATOR INTEREST FORM has been reviewed, you will receive the code to join the google classroom "class" where the current versions of the catechetical modules and its corresponding materials are available for review.

4. Complete the work of reviewing the current versions of the catechetical modules, its resources/materials, and submit the CM-REVIEW FORM (found in google classroom) for each module you wish to be certified to teach. 

5. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE CM-REVIEW FORMS IN GOOGLE CLASSROOM PRIOR TO THIS TRAINING SESSION

Once you have completed this training, you will also be required to:

1. Attend a session of each module you wish to be certified to teach and complete a CM-OBSERVATION REPORT FORM.  

2. Complete a 15-minute conversation (in-person or virtual) with Miguel A. Vences, Associate Director of O.E.C. charged with overseeing the catechetical modules' program.
