Bolstering the Family

Marriage and Family Enrichment

“It is worthwhile to live as a family, that a society grows strong, grows in goodness, grows in beauty and truly grows if it is built on the foundation of the family.”  - Pope Francis

The Catholic Church believes marriage is a gift to society from God, one that builds a strong foundation for the ultimate wellbeing of the family and overall health of a Christian society.

The Family Life Ministry provides marriage and family enrichment opportunities to help build a life of faith and love that bring enjoyment to the entire family. The following opportunities equip couples with ways to strengthen their relationship and foster an authentic Catholic understanding of marriage, human sexuality, and family life.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter

Worldwide Marriage Encounter is an enrichment ministry for married couples that value their relationship and desire to share a richer, fuller life together. It is also a program for priests and religious that want to strengthen their relationships with their Church and religious communities.

The Marriage Encounter experience is a live event, whether in person or a virtual meeting, typically held over a weekend where three married couples and a priest provide new tools and perspectives, using examples from their own lives, to help couples work through common themes they may face during their marriage. Topics include communicating intimately, exploring personality styles, addressing difficult topics, and discovering God’s plan for their marriage. The shared experience helps the couple learn how to listen, share, and connect more deeply with one another.

Unlike other group retreats, this is a private experience between the couple, so there’s no group discussion; just an opportunity to learn how to be the best, most loving and thriving couple possible. Participants are also invited to join small group gatherings for ongoing formation and fellowship at their own or nearby parish. Nine in ten couples that attend a Marriage Encounter recognize a long-lasting positive effect on their lives.

Missionary Families for Christ

Missionary Families of Christ (MFC) is a worldwide evangelistic and missionary community committed to become families empowered by the Holy Spirit to renew the face of the earth. With presence in over 20 U.S. states, including Texas. MFC’s life and mission are the renewal of families and the work of evangelization. The family is God’s basic unit for society and the Church, and its stability and strength will determine the future of humanity.

Visit mfcusa.org to know more about us.

Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC) is MFC’s lay response to our bishops’ call to reach out to Catholics whose faith-life has been largely eroded and even lost. It is designed for rapid and massive evangelization, accompanied by the systematic empowerment of laypeople to participate in the work. It is hoped that through this mission, the Church will be able to mainstream Catholic lay evangelization, truly becoming a missionary Church.
