UST launches inaugural photography contest

September 13, 2012

HOUSTON — The University of St. Thomas launched its first photography contest on Sept. 8.

The contest celebrates the art and architecture of the university, campus life and faith. It is open to the general public, students, faculty and staff.
All photographs must be taken on-campus or of the campus and campus life.

Local photographers are encouraged to submit photographs that capture the university and its impact on the community. The official entry submission period is Sept. 8 though Oct. 20. Photographs may be taken prior to Sept. 8.

The free contest is open to professional and amateur photographers. Entrants may submit up to two photographs per category: campus architecture, faith/character and campus life.

One amateur and one professional winner will be announced per category. Amateur category winners will be awarded a $250 prize, and professional category winners will be awarded a $500 prize. The overall grand prize winner will win $1,500.
