Serra Club hosting conference and lecture in June

HOUSTON — The Serra Club of Houston is sponsoring a Mass and dinner for all Serrans, June 18. Daniel Cardinal DiNardo will celebrate the 5 p.m. Mass at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Pkwy., Houston. The Mass is followed with a dinner at the nearby Cathedral Center and features a lecture by Father Brett Brannen, author of “To Save a Thousand Souls,” a book popular with those discerning a vocation to the priesthood or religious life. On June 17, the Serra Club and the University of St. Thomas are collaborating to present a lecture by Father Brannen at Jones Hall at UST, 7:30 p.m. In a lecture titled “To Set the World on Fire,” Father Brannen will share insight into vocational discernment, seminary life and the priesthood in the modern world.
