KINGWOOD — More than 300 golfers from across the Archdiocese participated in Daniel Cardinal DiNardo’s sixth Annual Shepherd’s Cup Charity Golf Classic on Monday, October 7, at Kingwood Country Club benefiting St. Mary’s Seminary, Catholic education and faith formation.

The Galveston-Houston Knights of Columbus Charities presented the event and Seminarians from St. Mary’s served as the volunteer corps that greeted, registered and assisted the golfers throughout their round.

Channel 2 anchor, Owen Conflenti, served as emcee for the awards dinner. Father Brendan Cahill, Director of the Secretariat for Clergy Formation and Chaplaincy Services, auctioned a dinner with Cardinal DiNardo, Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz and Father Trung Nguyen, rector of St. Mary’s Seminary, by Seminarian/Chef Roger Morgan.

Closest to the Pin winners were Monsignor Bill Young, Marsh Course; Father David Berger, Lake Course; and Steve Schwarzbach, Island Course. The Tri Leaf Industries team of Woody Williams, Tim Hermann, Gary Hermann and Curt Schlogl successfully defended their title as Island Course Low Gross winners.
