May 27, 2015
HOUSTON — A tour of the Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza Priest Retirement Residence offered a chance to see progress of the construction on May 14 at St. Dominic Village in the Texas Medical Center.
Among those in attendance were Archbishop Fiorenza, Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz, retired Auxiliary Bishop Vincent M. Rizzotto, Monsignor Frank H. Rossi and Father Sean P. Horrigan. Village supporters, generous donors and staff along with retired priests living in the current facility – the Pope John XXIII Residence at St. Dominic Village – joined the tour and shared in the excitement of growing construction at the new development.
Pope John XXIII has been welcoming retired priests for more than 30 years and is in need of modernization and expansion. A capital campaign was recently held for the new residence. Construction started following the groundbreaking last fall. †
