Catholic Relief Services’ Operation Rice Bowl invites all to take action this Lent
February 28, 2012
HOUSTON – Lent started Feb. 22 as did Operation Rice Bowl, a Lenten enrichment program sponsored by Catholic Relief Services, the international relief agency of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Operation Rice Bowl offers ways for parishes, schools and families to bring their Catholic faith to life during the holy season of Lent by introducing them to countries where poor communities are being strengthened by the work of the Church through Catholic Relief Services. The program makes available a collection of short videos, personal stories and simple meatless recipes from each country, along with a daily guide of reflections and ideas to enhance the Lenten experience for Catholics of all ages.
