Angel House at St. Dominic Village in need of furniture
May 23, 2011
HOUSTON — St. Dominic Village has temporary affordable housing known as Angel House that is available to those seeking treatment at the Texas Medical Center. Angel House is an extension of St. Dominic Village’s mission to care for elders with the compassion of Christ. The Village also provides temporary housing for the Catholic community as well as guests and family visiting the residents. Angel House has seven rooms located in one of St. Dominic Village’s Independent Living residence halls. The rooms are simply furnished with two single beds, dressers, night stands, lamps and a lounge chair. The program is expanding rapidly. Rooms are currently at capacity almost every night. Occasionally the Village utilizes additional rooms traditionally set aside for family visitors and guests for short term medical stays. As a result of the expanding program, St. Dominic Village is in need of donated furniture in good condition to furnish more rooms for those in need. If you have or know of someone who has furniture that might be appropriate, the Angel House Program at St. Dominic Village will accept and pick up the furniture.
