11th annual Nun Run charity motorcycle ride revs motors for school-based clinics

September 22, 2015

HOUSTON — The CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare will host the 11th Annual Nun Run on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The 40-mile, Blue Knights police-escorted motorcycle ride begins at the St. Austin Center, located at 2002 Wayside Dr. in Houston, and ends at the Top Water Grill at 815 Avenue O in San Leon.

The family-friendly event schedule includes breakfast at the St. Austin Center, a soccer shootout with Diesel, the mascot of the Houston Dynamo, and a lunch afterwards at Top Water Grill.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. The event will occur whether rain or shine.

This year’s event benefits CHRISTUS school-based clinics, which provide healthcare to children on campus in 17 low-income neighborhood schools. Last school year, more than 6,000 children received care, parents were able to avoid missing work and absences were reduced.

Event participants receive breakfast, lunch, t-shirt, and a commemorative ride pin. Registration is now open for $50 per rider.
