Five Minutes with Father Italo Dell'Oro: Finding a new mountain to climb

When Father Italo Dell’Oro, C.R.S., first arrived in Galveston-Houston in 1992, his initial assignment was as pastor of Assumption Church in Houston. Growing up in Valmadrera, Italy, the Somascan priest was an avid rock-climber and mountaineer during his teen years on the pristine countryside of Lake Como. He wasn’t familiar with topography of the Bayou City upon arrival.

Young adults from 27 parishes are preparing for the 31st World Youth Day (WYD) in Krakow, Poland, being held from July 26 to July 31, 2016. Pope Francis has encouraged everyone who is going to Krakow, and those who are joining virtually through the Internet, to “prepare spiritually above all – in your communities, so that our gathering may be a sign of faith for the whole world!”

Café Catholica to uncover love, truth and happiness

Thousands of young adults from across the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston are invited to attend Café Catholica, an annual summer young adult speaker series sponsored by the Archdiocese. The events, hosted by the Young Adult and Campus Ministry Office, will be held all four Mondays in July at St. Michael Catholic Church located near The Galleria at 1801 Sage Road in Houston.
