"Teen talk" is a series focusing on young people. In collaboration with the Office of Youth Ministry of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, members of the Youth Ambassadors of Christ (the Archdiocesan Youth Council) are asked to answer one question. This week's question: “What is the most important lesson your family has taught you about God?”
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is beginning a year-long Pastoral Planning Process starting this month. Daniel Cardinal DiNardo is inviting all Catholics to participate in listening sessions to hear what the faithful appreciate, hope for and need from the Catholic Church in the coming years.
April 1 to 2, join the Office of Family Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for the Family Life Conference. This event offers professional development for clergy, lay pastoral ministers, parish staff, movement and organization leaders, and key parish volunteers in leadership positions.
Lent is a penitential season and as such religious practice such as daily Mass, reception of the Sacrament of Penance, the devotion of the Stations of the Cross, works of charity and justice, and acts of self-denial are highly encouraged.
Lenten almsgiving is a tenant of the Catholic faith, but with so many in need, it’s often hard to decide to whom or what one should give. Catholic Relief Service’s Operation Rice Bowl is an annual Lenten program which begins on Ash Wednesday, March 9.
