Lenten prayer, fasting and almsgiving are mainstays of the Catholic faith, but for young adults juggling life in the 21st century, it’s often hard to find time for prayer, practice disciplined living or know how or where to share resources. But these 40 days, young adults have a wealth of options for living out their Lenten journeys in a deeper way.
While the rewards of RCIA are immeasurable, the initiation rite requires discipline and diligent schedule management. And for Jessica Abila, this process warranted additional juggling as she and husband Christopher were preparing for their wedding this past February – which, in and of itself, can be a demanding task for two individuals with full-time jobs.

Bayou Awakening is a retreat for college-age young adults (18-25), led by young adults. Bayou Awakening #18 will be held March 16 to18, 2012, at Camp Kappe, 7738 Camp Kappe Rd., Plantersville. The retreat is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
