Blue Mass honors the men and women of law enforcement

Houston – Every day the men and women of law enforcement dedicate themselves, and risk their lives, to protect the citizens of the Galveston-Houston area. At 5 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 24, Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz will lead Catholics from across the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston as they honor and thank these men and women at the Archdiocesan Law Enforcement Blue Mass. The Mass will be held at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Parkway in downtown Houston.

Houston-area Catholics Pray for Peace in Our Communities

For Catholics across the country, Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, is a Day of Prayer for Peace in Our Communities. The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will honor the day with a Mass at 12:10 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9. Both services will be held at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Parkway in downtown Houston.

Local priest from India to lead pilgrimage to Rome for Mother Teresa canonization

On Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, Father Desmond Daniels, a parochial vicar at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, along with 25 parishioners from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will leave on a pilgrimage to Rome for the Canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, MC.
