President of U.S. Catholic Bishops’ Statement on Terrorist Attacks at Multiple Churches, Hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday

The following statement has been issued by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops regarding simultaneous explosions in Sri Lanka targeting the country’s minority Christian community as well as luxury hotels around Colombo on Easter Sunday morning. At least 200 people were killed and more than 400 injured in the terrorist attacks.

Rite of Election for 2,100-plus held at four parishes around Archdiocese

On March 10, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo and Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz celebrated the Rite of Election for those preparing to enter the Catholic Church at Easter.
