Cardinal DiNardo statement re: Supreme Court ruling regarding U.S. v. Texas
June 24, 2016
“I am deeply disappointed with the Supreme Court’s tied vote that leaves in place the lower court ruling, blocking the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). The deadlock of the Supreme Court on this issue in effect puts millions of children and youth at risk and in constant fear of being deported.
The nation's immigration policies are broken and implementing a fair, comprehensive solution will be difficult. Such reform is necessary and I am committed to assist our civic and governmental leaders achieve an immigration solution that respects the fundamental dignity of the human person.
Please join me to pray for and encourage our leaders to work together toward a more comprehensive, humane and just immigration policy reform.”
