Cardinal DiNardo’s statement regarding Robert Roberson

Over the next twenty-four hours I join the Bishops of Texas in pleading for a stay of execution for Mr. Robert Roberson, and ask all people of goodwill to join me in prayer for Robert and his family.
Though the justice system has failed in this case, it is not too late to save Mr. Roberson’s life.
I also join the Bishops of Texas in applauding the efforts of the Texas House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee in their diligent work to prevent this tragedy.
