Cardinal DiNardo, Bishop Dell'Oro traveling to the National Eucharistic Congress
July 15, 2024
This week Bishop Italo and I are joining thousands of faithful Catholics at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis, Indiana. As we join with others from around the country in prayer, study, fellowship, and worship, please be assured of our continued prayers for our local Church
As we travel to this important moment in the life of the Church in the United States, I am keenly aware of the many individuals in our local community who continue to recover from the effects of Hurricane Beryl, many of whom are still without power. Let us continue to pray for the restoration of power to all, particularly the most vulnerable, as well as the many individuals working tirelessly to restore power to our city. I am grateful to all the social service ministries of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, especially Catholic Charities, who continue to provide assistance to those in need.
Lastly, considering the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump, I ask that we join in prayer for the individual who died, the wounded, their families, and for President Trump and his family as well. During this time of national strain, we must be clear in our disagreements, but equally clear on the dignity of each human person made in the image and likeness of God. No violence.
