By Daniel Cardinal DiNardo • The Season of Advent returns on Dec. 1, the beginning of a new liturgical year. It introduces us again to the final coming of Christ at the end of time and also focuses us on Jesus Christ’s first coming in the flesh. It allows us not only to see, but also to participate in “sacred history.”
On Nov. 11 at the U.S. Bishops Fall General Assembly in Baltimore, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, of Galveston-Houston and President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, delivered his final address upon the conclusion of his term as president of the U.S. Bishops conference on Nov. 14. Cardinal DiNardo had been president since Nov. 2016.
In the weeks ahead of the 2019 USCCB General Assembly in Baltimore, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo celebrated the 2019 Red Mass at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Houston and also met with retired brother priests at the St. Dominic Chancery.
