While I welcome the Court’s decision we now must go back to Congress, where these matters belong, to arrive at a just settlement that will recognize DACA recipients as genuine members of the United States who indeed have their “home” here. I hope we can work on all sides for a just resolution of this important matter for our immigrants here in the United States.
The senseless and unacceptable circumstances that led to George Floyd’s killing have confirmed in a graphic way that racism still exists in this country – and we have to confront it with thoughtful and intentional reforms.
Boldness is not being rash, but only a sign of the Holy Spirit’s refining us. Let us think and pray about this; let us read the Scriptures, the Acts of the Apostles. Let us bring charity and outreach to those in need or sorrow. Let us spread joy. Let us witness!
