Every October, the Catholic Church in the United States observes Respect Life Month. During this time, we pray and reflect on the precious gift of life from the moment of conception to natural death. It is a month during which we are called to deeply internalize the meaning of every human person.
Each year October is Respect Life Month in the Catholic Church in the United States. This year’s theme, ‘Moved by Mercy,’ takes account of this Jubilee Year of Mercy called by Pope Francis.
On Monday, full-page advertisements ran in the San Antonio Express-News, the Houston Chronicle, and the Dallas Morning News from a Washington D.C.-based entity called Catholics for Choice.
On Monday, Sept. 5, I presided at a celebration at our Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for the Feast Day of St. Teresa of Calcutta, canonized by Pope Francis the day before, Sunday, Sept. 4.
