Office of the Permanent Diaconate

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace" Peter 4:10

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Office of the Permanent Diaconate (OPD) and the formation program for permanent deacons.

OPD is responsible for all aspects associated with the recruitment and selection of potential deacons to their formation and evaluation, and for those ordained, to the ongoing formation and coordination of the Archdiocese's permanent diaconate community.

The OPD Formation Director facilitates the process involved in their formation and evaluation. Through the academic, spiritual, and pastoral formation of these men, the Director helps in the holistic development of each candidate within his family and community.

Additionally, the Director works with the ordained deacons in coordinating continuing education, retreats, assignments, exchange of information, meetings, support, and other activities.
