Ordinations to the Priesthood

  • The southern arm of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will depart from the tip of Texas in Brownsville, wind around the Gulf of Mexico—an area chosen for its deep Catholic roots—and pass through the southeastern region of the United States on its way to Indianapolis for the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. 

    The Eucharistic Pilgrimage will be passing through the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston from May 30 to June 2 with stops at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Houston, Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham, University of St. Thomas, and St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica in Galveston.

  • With praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston together with the families of Luis Armas, Viet Nguyen, and David Ramirez joyfully announces their ordinations to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood through the imposition of hands and the invocation of the Holy Spirit by His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. The Mass will be livestreamed at www.archgh.org/live, as well as on our Facebook page and YouTube channels.

  • On the Feast of Corpus Christi (Sunday, June 11 ) the total offertory in every parish of the archdiocese is dedicated to the support of the formation of seminarians of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston studying at St. Mary’s or at other seminaries, the operation of St. Mary’s Seminary, and the formation of seminarians of the religious communities who serve in our archdiocese.

  • FRIDAY June 14 & SATURDAY June 15 - The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston's Second Annual Summer Sacred Music Choral Festival will take place at Cypress Creek Christian Community Center's The Centrum in Spring, TX to accommodate a choir of 200 voices plus orchestra.
