Confirmation Coordinator Formation
The Office of Youth Ministry in conjunction with the Office of Continuing Christian Education offers workshops for the beginner & experienced DRE/CYM/Confirmation Coordinator which are grounded in the revised Archdiocesan Confirmation Guidelines [2000], the workshop will offer the beginner-level coordinator the practical how to's for designing and implementing Confirmation formation with adolescents. his is a workshop to assist the catechists, core team members with practical Confirmation catechetical approaches.

Workshop #1

The workshop will offer the beginner-level coordinator the practical how to's for designing and implementing Confirmation formation with adolescents. It includes how to
  1. Recruit and develop a formation team.
  2. Integrate Confirmation formation with ongoing catechetical formation & youth ministry.
  3. Involve parents, sponsors, and the parish community.
  4. Select Confirmation resources.
  5. Plan service and Confirmation retreats.
  6. Implement the Confirmation Rite.
  7. Assist persons with special mental and physical needs.

Workshop #2

This workshop for the experienced DRE and Confirmation Coordinators focuses on the approach of the whole church catechesis in the parish. It will offer the Confirmation coordinator
  1. Models and resources for involving the entire parish in adolescent Confirmation formation.
  2. Skills to apply a whole church model to their local parish.

Registration

The program is open to all DREs and Confirmation Coordinators.

The next Confirmation Coordinator Formation will be on August 30, 2011 at St. Dominic Chancery Room 140 from 8:00AM-4:00PM. (Registration Information will be posted soon)
