2011 Young Adult Conference


 

This year we embark on a joint initiative between the Office of Youth and the Office of Young Adult Ministry in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to provide conference programming for the 20-30 year old Catholics within the Archdiocese and Region 10.

The first ever Archdiocesan Conference for Catholic Young Adults (ACYA) which will be held in conjunction with the 2011 Archdiocesan Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry (ACCYM) will take place on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Intercontinental Houston Hotel at 2222 West Loop South in the beautiful Galleria area of Houston.

We have an exciting format of keynote presenters which includes nationally-known Bob Rice and Mike Patin. The conferences will celebrate youth and young adult ministry through shared experiences of prayer, worship, and keynotes while offering breakout sessions to address the unique needs of each audience. This gathering is for young adults, catechesists, youth ministry leaders & volunteers within the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and Region 10 Dioceses (Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas). Our theme is "Rooted and Built Up" (Col 2:1-8), like most adult formation conferences we desire to build up and support the ecclesial community while providing practical theological formation for ministry.
