Church Fathers

The first teachers of Christianity as collectively called "the Fathers" of the Church. These great men were filled with the Holy Spirit in such as way that their writings expressed for the Church great understanding and wisdom about the Word, as well as Church teaching. Read what the Fathers had to say about scripture to become more intimately connected to what the Word is saying to us as a person and as a Church. Also included is audio material of presentations from Cardinal DiNardo on this topic.

Archbishop DiNardo stated that the preaching and teaching of the Fathers was an unpacking of the scriptures in the early life of the Church. This essential period of the "Patristics," the Fathers, through the 5th century was essential to the development of our canon and our creed. Read for yourself the very words written by these great spiritual leaders of our Church. These are a few books to begin to learn more.
