Each year hundreds of young
Catholic members of Girl Scouts earn their religious
recognitions via programs administered by our committee
and other adults throughout our archdiocese. Did you
know that we also have recognitions for these dedicated
adults? We do! Yearly, on Recognition Sunday, our
committee acknowledges the time and dedication of these
adults to our programs with a variety of recognitions.
Who nominates these wonderful
adults and parishes for recognition? You do! That’s
right; the nominations do not come from the committee,
but from you, as an adult working with Catholic members
of Girl Scouts. Each of you should consider nominating
adults, pastors, and parishes for the various
recognitions described below. The deadline for all
submissions is March 1st. This past year The
Bishop’s Trophy was not awarded due to lack of
applications. We know that parishes are working
extensively with girls and they deserve recognition. Our
adults also deserve recognition of their service, so
please make every effort this year to look around and
nominate all those that make these programs happen so
that we may significantly congratulate them.
