Cardinal DiNardo, U.S. bishops urge changes to HHS mandate

On Feb. 10, the Catholic bishops of the United States – including Daniel Cardinal DiNardo – called for a renewed effort to change the Department of Health and Human Services-imposed mandate on employers. The bishops stated that the mandate violates conscience rights and religious liberty and that the recently announced “accommodation” for employers still forces objecting organizations and individuals to pay for “services” that violate their religious convictions.
