Houston is the fourth-largest city in the United States of America and the largest city within the state of Texas, USA. As of the 2006 U.S. Census estimate, the city has a population of 2.2 million within an area of 600 square miles. Houston is the seat of Harris County and the economic center of the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area—the sixth-largest metropolitan area in the U.S. with a population of 5.6 million.

 
AIR TRAVEL


Houston's two major airports are both 30 to 45 minutes drive from the airport to the George R. Brown Convention Center. George Bush Houston Intercontinental Airport is located north of downtown on Highway 59 and is the larger of the two airports. William P. Hobby Airport is located south of downtown on Interstate 45. There are shuttles to the airports from hotels so contact your hotel to see if they offer shuttle service from either airport. THINGS TO DO


As you come to Houston you will come to learn that in this large city there is much to do and see here. Some suggestions include: NASA, Houston Zoo, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Contemporary Arts Museum, Holocaust Museum, The Children's Museum, Houston Symphony, plays at the Alley Theater, and sports (basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer and football).
