Today we salute St. Irenaeus
 | | June 28, 2012 |
| Today we continue to celebrate Fortnight For Freedom, a campaign of prayerand penance to restore religious liberty and conscience rights through July 4. As we continue our reflections on religious liberty, we celebrate those who have defended the faith. Sister Madeleine Grace, C.V.I., Associate Professor and Scanlan Chair of Theology at the University of St. Thomas, speaks about why we celebrate the Feast of St. Ireneaus today. She tells us who he is, his fight against Gnosticism (which was then a serious threat to the Church) and his connection to religious liberty.Audio Player | | By Rebecca Torrellas | | | Comments: 0 | | Tags: St. Ireneaus, Sister Madeleine Grace, Fortnight for Freedom, martyr, University of St. Thomas |
