| Bishop Sheltz celebrating first public Mass of Thanksgiving tonight | | May 15, 2012 |

Join Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz for his first public Mass of Thanksgiving tonight at Prince of Peace Church, 19222 Tomball Parkway in Houston. The Mass begins at 7 p.m. at the parish, where Bishop Sheltz had once served as pastor.
The newly ordained bishop will also be celebrating other public Masses this month. The public is welcome to attend the following Masses with Bishop Sheltz at these parishes. - May 24 at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 7801 Bay Branch Dr. in The Woodlands
- May 29 at 7 p.m. at Christ the Redeemer Church, 11507 Huffmeister Road in Houston.
- June 4 at 7 p.m. at Annunciation Church, 1618 Texas Ave. in Houston(the parish Bishop Sheltz was ordained to the priesthood)
- June 5 at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Parish, 34th and Ave. K in Galveston.
Bishop Sheltz spent 36 of his 40-plus years as a parish priest at Catholic churches around the Archdiocese and was educated at Annunciation Catholic School, St. Thomas High School, the University of St. Thomas and St. Mary's Seminary – all located in Houston. He was ordained a bishop May 2 at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Houston.
