Naji Hakim to perform at Co-Cathedral, Oct. 14
October 13, 2011

The first celebrity organ recital of this year's Co-Cathedral Concert Series opens with an international star of the organ world, well-known composer and improviser Naji Hakim of Paris, France. Among many career awards and recognitions around the world, Dr. Hakim is the recipient of the Papal Cross from Pope Benedict XVI in recognition of his contributions to sacred Catholic music, and the successor to Olivier Messiaen at Église de la Trinité in Paris. He is passionate about the traditions of Gregorian chant and Maronite chant and incorporates those musics in his own compositions.

The concert is at 8 p.m. at Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Pkwy., Houston. Tickets are $25 for reserved seating and $15 for general seating.

Tickets can be purchased at www.cocathedralmusic.org, by phone at 713.659.1561 or at the door.

On Oct. 13, the Heralds of the Gospel are hosting a Rosary and Mass honoring Our Lady of Fatima at the Co-Cathedral. The Rosary and Coronation is at 6:30 p.m.; the Mass is at 7:30 p.m.
