ROSENBERG – Holy Rosary Church is hosting its 72nd annual bazaar, Sunday, August 24. BBQ meal served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drive through available 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Auction begins at 1:30 p.m. Children’s games and booths for the entire family. SEALY – Immaculate Conception Church is hosting its bazaar and homecoming, Sunday, August 31, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1390 Highway 90 West in Sealy. BBQ lunch will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. Mexican food will be available. Ray Krenek will provide music in the hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Krenek and The Texas Sound will provide music under the pavilion before and after the live auction. Games, booths and great food. WALLIS – Guardian Angel Church will hold its annual Harvest Festival & Bazaar on Sunday, September 14, at the church grounds one block south of Highway 36 on FM 1952 Rd in Wallis, Texas. Thanksgiving Masses will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at the beautifully decorated church. A barbeque beef and chicken meal with all the trimmings will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. with dine-in plates or drive-thru to-go plates. There will be music all day with plenty of games, rides and booths for all members of the family. The grand auction will start at 1 p.m. under the large pavilion. LOVING EMBRACE – is a Catholic educational support group for couples who have endured or are presently enduring the pain and suffering of infertility. It is a group where couples can explore resources, methods and options that are morally faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. LITURGY: ENACTING THE PASCHAL MYSTERY – Friday, September 12, 4 to 9 p.m. at St. Cecilia Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston. Sister Kathleen Harmon, noted author and music director for programs at the Institute of Liturgical Ministry in Dayton, Ohio, will speak on “Liturgy: Enacting the Paschal Mystery”. This presentation, based on her book, “The Mystery We Celebrate, the Song We Sing: A Theology of Liturgical Music”, is sponsored by the Office of Worship, NPMGH and St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. ADORATION – The Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in their convent chapel on the first Sunday of every month from after the 8:45 a.m. Mass until noon. ST. AMBROSE ALUMNI – St. Ambrose School is attempting to establish an alumni database directory in celebration of their 50th Anniversary in 2010. ST. JOSEPH ALUMNI – The St. Joseph School Alumni Search Committee in Baytown is looking for graduates, former students, teachers and staff as part of its planning for the school’s approaching 60th birthday. The reunion activities are scheduled for the weekend of April 24-26, 2009. In addition to name, current address, phone number and e-mail address, information should include year of graduation/attendance, and maiden and spouse’s name, where applicable. This information will be entered into a new database that will allow the committee to send out reunion plans, updates and news of former classmates to all interested parties. The committee hopes to receive as many entries as possible before the projected mailing of an initial newsletter in the fall of this year. BLOOD DRIVE – Our Lady of Lourdes Church will host a blood drive on Saturday, September 13, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Madonna Hall, 10114 Hwy 6, Hitchcock. Anyone in good health, at least 17 years old and weighs at least 110 pounds can donate.
