Founded in 1943 by Monsignor John Roach, Catholic Charities has served as the social service arm of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, providing help and creating hope to thousands in our community. From advocacy to food pantries, HIV/AIDS education to legal assistance, counseling to foster care and adoption, Catholic Charities offers vital social service programs to those in need without regard to race, religion or socioeconomic status.

Catholic Charities programs include: Adoption, AIDS Ministry, Disaster Recovery, Family Counseling, Foster Care, Family Assistance Program at Beacon of Hope Center in Galveston and Guadalupe Center, Refugee Resettlement Services, Post Adoption Services, St. Frances Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance, Villa Guadalupe, St. Jerome Emiliani's Home for Children, St. Michael's Home for Children, Serenity House, Services to the Alone and Frail Elderly (SAFE), Services to Pregnant and Parenting Adolescents.
