Parenting Information Referral Services

Resource Offices
For over 60 years, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has served the social and health needs of the Houston and Galveston communities by providing programs aimed at promoting and facilitating self-sufficiency. Services are provided in the following four divisions:

Children and Family Services: adoption and foster care, counseling (children, family, individual), post adoption counseling and search, services to pregnant and parenting adolescents.

Community Outreach: AIDS ministry, disaster relief, family emergency assistance at Galveston County Center and Guadalupe Center, Services to the Alone and Frail Elderly (SAFE), transitional living for women at Villa Guadalupe, temporary living for patients of the Texas Medical Center at Serenity House.

Immigration and Refugee Services: legal assistance through St. Frances Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance, refugee resettlement, St. Jerome's Home for Children, St. Michael's Home for Children.

Parish Relations and Advocacy: advocacy for social justice and human needs, training and support for parish and community leaders.
